The Adcon A723 is the smallest radio for use in a weather / soil monitoring system. It's range varies from 1 - 3 km depending on terrain. It is virtually waterproof and shockproof. An additional solar panel is required to maintain battery charge. Depending on the number and type of sensors attached, the battery will last 2 to 4 years. Ten I/O connectors allow for several different sensors to be connected to the radio. This radio is set up for transmit only, so it can only be used at the end of a line of stations in a network. All data must be channelled through a gateway to be analyzed and posted on the internet.
