Atrazine Available in BC Once Again

Atrazine will be available to BC Farmers in 2012 for us on field corn and sweet corn. This will include Aatrex and Primextra II Magnum labels.

Applied in a pre-emergent application, Atrazine is actively absorbed by roots of germinating weeds and controls them by blocking photosynthesis.
It is effective on broadleaved weeds such as Common purslane, Smartweed, Lady's-thumb, Redroot pigweed and Lamb's-quarters.

Primextra II Magnum contains two active ingredients, plus benoxacor which is a crop "safener".
Benoxacor improves metabolism of S-Metolachlor, reducing the risk of injury to corn grown in unfavourable weather conditions.

In addition to the weeds controlled by Aatrex, Primextra will also control Crabgrass, Barnyard grass, Foxtail and Wild mustard.
